No, I was cutting it short in my write up - she does actually expressly say "half a pound of flour".
I thank you on Mrs de Salis' behalf for trying to defend her but...alas, she got her recipe wrong! The Caked Crusaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02840224194242219981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-430441346293872555.post-23619707381067906242010-08-07T19:49:25.137+01:002010-08-07T19:49:25.137+01:00They look great - lovely pale colour and beautiful...They look great - lovely pale colour and beautifully crumbly.

It could be said, though (just to play devil's advocate!), that you did use the same weight of flour as butter and sugar. Perhaps her wording is ambiguous but this is what she meant and you have unwittingly followed her recipe exactly!!! Anyway, the end result is surely the most important thing and these look lovely - I do like your history corner posts!Carolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13067886984635079539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-430441346293872555.post-55859746211296371842010-08-06T12:09:01.414+01:002010-08-06T12:09:01.414+01:00Delish!
